The Hulse Design Co. Story

Hi, I’m Ryan Hulse, owner and craftsman behind Hulse Design Co.
I am a finish carpenter and custom woodworker based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, serving clients throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

I specialize in custom built-ins, mudrooms, fireplace mantels, stair upgrades, and detailed interior carpentry. My goal is to create work that not only looks good, but functions well and lasts for years.

I grew up learning this trade from my dad and grandfather. Over time, the shop tools upgraded, the projects got bigger, and the expectations got higher. But the core approach stayed the same, build it right, pay attention to the details, and treat every home like it’s my own.

With over 10 years of professional woodworking and finish carpentry experience, I’ve worked on everything from small trim projects to full room transformations.

Most of my work is completed on site throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Some projects are built partially or fully in the shop, then installed at the client’s home.
